Sounds like they took the one with the flats off Thursday's rake.

It passed us at birkett going ok but after a lovely afternoon the sky had turned black not long before the train was due and as I was packing up the cameras the heavens opened. Loads of local strikes on the lightning app on my phone, so the track would be swimming on the climb to Ais gill

We set out for Birkett and changed our minds to Ais Gill. Took 6 minutes from coming in to view near Angerholme to passing the under the bridge at the Summit. Quite the performance Tbf

I would say that beats a video I captured of 5690 on a Fellsman back in 2010 ☹️

Plenty of people about as No. 60103 'Flying Scotsman' heads the 'Waverley through Dent Station and onwards to Carlisle with Mick Rawling driving, Fraser Birrell firing and James North Guard

    Waverkey FS 3 NP.jpg

Under threatening skies, thunder rumbling in the background and starting to rain 'Flying Scotsman' works the return 'Waverley' over Crosby Garrett viaduct towards Kirkby Stephen and York with Chris Cubitt driving, Josh Youngs firing and Steve Adams Guard

I hate to let facts get in the way of a good story but for the record (we love records on the S&C, don't we?;)) it was more like 15mph.

When we were walking back to the car in the face of raindrops coming down like bullets, I looked south towards Ais Gill it looked absolutely dire and I was pleased I’d changed my original plan, which was to go to Ais Gill for a change. Horrendous weather.
