Is there anywhere that the current and historical passenger figures across the industry can be found and compared?
    Thanks in advance.

I have a vague recollection that the HRA collate those sort of figures from across the industry, but no idea whether you can see the detailed information.

You would also need to know the basis on what the figures are compiled.

    For example
is a round trip counted as two passenger journeys (or one journey)?
how is a "rover" ticket counted?
are dining train / footplate ride journeys included or excluded?
    are infants included?

The HRA produce an annual statistical report which will have those figures. Should be on the website somewhere.

When you say ‘across the industry’ do you mean individual railways or the industry total? The HRA does collect the former but that and other information collected is regarded as confidential and it is only totals and trends that is made available. For individual results you will need to look elsewhere, probably In annual reports.

Yeah, just totals and trends was what I was after.
    Thanks
