Good to see that the WSR will be running over the whole line. Looking at the timetable, it seems to be trimming operations a bit - not many Mondays or Fridays, and the 'shoulder' season seems to be using just one steam loco for the day, plus a dmu. Prices seem to be the same as last year, which is good these days. Very ready to apologise if I've misread! You have to cut your coat according to your cloth. Anyway, steam or diesel, I shall look forward to visiting both at events and 'normal' timetabled services.

You must be using the wrong contact details as he is normally very quick to reply. Contact me by pm and I'll put you in contact.

I'm not sure there will be an SSG this year. In one of the Journals last year the dates of Friday 28th April to Monday 1st May were given for the 2023 SSG, but looking at the timetables there's no service on those days and I can't see any special event dates that span the usual four days that a gala runs over. There was also mention of a diesel gala on the 8th to 11th June, but the 8th to the 10th are shown as having no service.

I expect that those dates have been left blank because they have not yet been officially announced as gala days. It would be odd to put non-running days on some of the dates mentioned.

As @Ian Monkton says, you have to read between the lines.

and reading, if your between any lines, is not to be recommended, hi vis clothing, does not make you train proof, you have to be alert to the danger, you might be facing, ;) would reading between the lines place you in the 6 foot, or the four foot ? :)

Am I the only one confused by the WSR website? i clicked on the timetable page to find out what is happening. on purple highlighted days it says "Special event" but no details are available of what the event is or how to book, indeed the page you get to states its the 2022 details. i also note that there areno trains in the upcoming half term. (Swanage Railway has a good timetable for all days of the period)

Those purple dates in April and June match up with the previously mentioned dates for the SSG and Diesel Galas. :)

As far as I'm aware it is all in hand for completion by the start of the regular service in Mid March
