The carriages of the NNR are a credit to the railway. They give an opportunity for the passenger to experience so many different ages of vehicle and travelling styles.

    And they are maintained well.

I enjoyed sampling them at the Autumn Showcase yesterday - and plan to do it all again today

And I should also mention the goods vehicles which are also in action this weekend. Very nice.

    Your work is appreciated.

Just out of interest, how is the Sheringham Platform 2 project going? (Appreciate this was announced 2019 and it's been an 'eventful' few years since, just wondering if this is still an active appeal or whether it's been put on hiatus).

Unfortunately this had to be put on hold due to Covid. We're about to appoint an architect and re-launch the project in the Spring of 2023.

A photo appeared on a Facebook group of 92203 Black Prince with farewell messages chalked on the smokebox door. I assume therefore it is now withdrawn for overhaul?

Rare, but on this occasion yes: it was definitely a photograph!

That's it - I couldn't remember which of the groups it was in. Normally chalkings such as 'Don't Let Me Die' and 'The End' are applied to a loco going out of ticket, hence my query.

It is my understanding that the farewell messages refer more to the end of the running season than the engine's ticket.

To my knowledge Black Prince’s overhaul isn’t for a while, 2024 or 5 maybe?

Good to see Tornado will be making a return to the line this year. The network rail weight restrictions on the Bittern Line must have been sorted
