Purely by chance; changing trains at Oxford tonight I saw Clun Castle leave about 15 late; as I stepped off a Southbound Cross-Country late running train. Looked and sounded superb. Even better than the Clun that hauled me on the main line in the mid to late 1980s. Well done Vintage Trains-Tyseley Works. A very vocal performance from Clun yesterday especially at Bishops Itchington, Culham and Bentley Heath crossing. The 47 not so much !

Sounds like the last coach or the 47 has a wheel flat.

I think you may have helped with the location where the below photograph was taken in 1964. Going by the building on the extreme right of your closing sequence has, I think, identified the 1964 location as Tyseley. The building seems to be the same one although in 1964 it had the name ROVER thereon. Maybe someone with knowledge of the area might confirm it.

Footage from this evening at Tyseley . Local off the North Warwicks line sat in platform 4 held waiting for the Polar Express to pass . Sparks flying into the night sky and the station wreathed in steam

Confirmed. See https://richardstevens.smugmug.com/.../Britain-/BR-Steam/Western-Region/i-ZtCDzRd/A, where you can read Tyseley on the extreme left and Rover on the extreme right.

Here's a shot of 7029 in the Cherwell valley last Tuesday morning, sandwiched between shots of 70000 and 6233. Lovely light and still some leaves clinging to the trees. I think there must still be a restriction for the Castle through Tackley station as she's slowing up the gentle gradient (the only one in this direction on this bit of line).

Spurred on by the 5pm run , went back for the 9pm . Quite eerie being the only people on the station on a bitterly cold evening . 7029 did not disappoint with an even better run through the station
