Yes - I'm expecting/hoping the sunny and frosty weather later this week will be good for steam sequences.

This morning's trip to Bath with 4498 has left Victoria 5 minutes early! Edit - no, RTT has just corrected itself to show 1L from Victoria after all. Strange.

An almost comically poor day of 'chasing' (albeit very low-key) for me! I caught a train from Dorking Deepdene to Wokingham, intending to hop off and video 4498 as it followed us there. But, despite the steam having oodles of time booked to wait outside Reading, it was sent ahead of us at Wokingham, and thus delayed my service train (which I stayed on to Reading, having seen on RTT what was going on). Why on earth the steam wasn't sent behind the service train as planned I don't know (thereby not delaying it), as it certainly wasn't holding anything up in turn behind it. Anyway, I then caught a train to Reading West to catch 4498 there, only to have a long container train 'bowl' me there! I am therefore proud to able to present this cameo of SNG at Reading West! 115A9652.jpeg

    An A4 versus a unit?

So good to hear the chime again, after what seems so long, from an A4 Pacific. Simply wonderful.[BJ]

After dark scenes of 'Gresley' hauling the return leg of the 'Lincoln Christmas Market' train, from Swinderby, Newark, High Dyke and Woodwalton - with a memorable acoustic sequence as 4498 gets away from the Conington water stop and begins the climb at 1/200 towards Abbotts Ripton on the ECML.

Indeed so - I really do not understand what's happening with the Winchfield timings. I assume an error has slipped through and is now being blindly repeated. Tomorrow's run with 44871 is still shown as pathed at 75mph after Salisbury.

FWIW - the ECS for the return Bath to Victoria working has not left yet. The headcode for the ECS has just been interposed; ready for the 1616 ECS Bristol East Depot to Bath Spa - as at 17.55 hours.
