Thank you. Is it a real word though?

Standard term in the transport industry I believe. In aviation almost permanently used in lieu of the longer moniker.

Running early on the return without the need for the long pathing stop at St Mary Cray Jct - only just caught it cruising through Shortlands.

When it came through South Croydon this morning the exhaust beat certainly sounded unusual.

    Regards,

    Dan

Superb capture you got there. I was just up the line at Godstone :) (fair few people at the latter to see 34067 pass)

I've just got home from being on the trip. Thanks for the pics posted so far. I'm looking forward to more, and videos. I was in the third Pullman, so fifth coach overall, and heard plenty of sound for much of the time. I agree that the exhaust sometimes sounded a bit irregular, but less so when she was working harder. We often ran ahead of time: I suspect the schedule allowed for keeping out of the way of the many service trains that would have been running on a normal day. One of the few that were running, Thameslink 9Y40, played tag with us on the 4-track section from Swanley and we were held for a few minutes at Herne Hill to let another Thameslink cross in front of us.

Thanks very much - it is quite a luxury having 8K video as the extracts are high resolution stills in their own right. Nutfield station was busy, including two local ladies who were very excited and stood on the footbridge right over the Tonbridge-bound line and received the full force of the exhaust amid screams of delight!

    Filmed at Godstone and Aylesford.
(Whilst setting up at Godstone the camera battery expired so ended up filming it on my phone:().

Glad to have finally seen this machine at long last! Seen at Edenbridge, Wateringbury and climbing Sole Street bank, the latter of which the station was closed, but with everybody there awaiting it's passing, you wouldn't have known!
