Second run was on the 9th February with 76079 having ‘Round 2’ chalked on smokebox (I believe this was something to do with 76079 having trouble at Copy Pit on first run)

No I do not currently volunteer
On the 12th Jan run, 76079 came to a halt just before the summit, short of steam and I believe low water level in the boiler due to problems with the fire. On the 9th Feb, the same fireman was given the chance to redeem himself, which he did admirably.

On the 14th June 2008 using the same stock as the Morning Cotton Mill Express, a one off tour was operated, testing the waters for the future? But never went any further

60009 Union of South Africa handled the 29th August run which unfortunately failed about 10 minutes after these photos were taken
After leaving Huddersfield and joining the Calder Valley line the failure of 60009’s air braking system which resulted in an emergency stop being made by the train between Mirfield station and Mirfield East Junction. On-train repair proved impossible and the train had to be rescued by 66129 which reportedly travelled out from Healey Mills. The train restarted some 90 minutes late having caused major consequential delays and cancellation to a variety of and Northern services etc.(courtesy Six Bells site)
