Don't give certain dark corners of NatPres ideas. Pretty sure some new build proposals were built on flimsier suggestions.

As they are scrapping the bunker and the tanks - make another mogul!

I'm pretty sure at least one reconstruction has been classed as a 'rebuild' whilst incorporating less original rust metal. ;)

At the end of January 22 the boiler was rolled to its correct position and trial fitted into the frames Photo courtesy of G Amos. It was then removed and placed on the wagon where its overhaul will be completed including hydraulic and steam test.

I thought I recognised the number of the Taunton Concrete wagon - I took a shot of it many years ago... https://flic.kr/p/cbj5HE

Work on 4110 continues although slightly delayed by getting running fleet ready for the new season. Small tubes are being inserted into the boiler and most of the stay holes in the new boiler platework have been tapped.

A significant moment in 4110's restoration occurred on Sunday 7 August with the boiler being filled with water for the first time since 1965.[IMG]

One of the last views of the boiler before it is refitted in the frames.

I am really impressed by the rapidity of this overhaul! It's coming on very nicely, well done to all involved.

They have a fine ''track record'' for contract overhauls.

That's why the DSR chose them, I'm sure.
