Bluebell Railway Terrier Gala: 29th - 31st July 2022

Well there you go folks, seems to be a real all out event this year!

I'm wondering what exactly is meant by "Terrier Gala". So far they have said that Fenchurch should be working and Stepney will be on static display, but what else will be running? Some years ago (about 2007 I think) they did a fantastic gala with 5 terriers running (should have been 6 but one didn't make it). If I remember correctly there was Stepney, Fenchurch, Knowle, Martello and Freshwater from the Isle of Wight. Are they planning something like that again or is that very wishful thinking?

I don't think you going to like this A1X but I think it's going to be 6989 "Wightwick Hall".

Trust me, I was shocked too, but I will personally welcome it with open arms.

 

In addition to 70 and W11, the Ingfield Light Railway is sending two little Terriers of their own to join the celebrations.

Brighton will be display only.
Crowborough will be giving rides to visitors at Sheffield Park.

Making it up to 6 Terriers attending the event, alongside 65, 6989 and 30541!

Can someone please tell me which way the locos are facing?

 

W11 should be facing South, while Poplar should be facing North.
All other locos are facing North.

 

There is a possibility 80151 might be working in place of another loco as well. This faces south

The timetable for this gala is certainly ambitious and leaves very little room for any on the day issues / delays and it could slip very easily if problems occur. With only 4 minutes given at Kingscote between crossing trains and just 5 minutes at Sheffield Park on arrival / departure, getting between these particular trains could be 'interesting'.

 

The Hall had failed and will be replaced by 80151 which is facing South.

 

Ah, the unreliable GWR once again having to be bailed out by something reliable built in Brighton

I’m guessing W11 will always be leading running bunker first when paired with Popular & O1 while running north?
