I heard she's going to be purple because Taw Valley is going back green later in the year and purple has been so popular with the public ;-)

The current all-diesel service (in place of the planned steam and diesel service due to the current fire risk) to continue until at least Tuesday 26th July.

Taw Valley in its purple guise will be in steam to haul the baton relay special train this Saturday 23rd July. "It will be assisted by a diesel locomotive in order to help prevent the chances [sic] of a lineside fire."

Viewed at Bewdley earlier today, rather strange I’ve had a visit up to Mum and Dads and not had chance for a trip on ‘the railway at the bottom of the garden’
Various other attractions in the Bewdley area have been rather willing to take cash off me though.
I’m sure Ms Smith and her team know what their doing… ;)

Looks about how you'd expect after not being used for a few weeks and being outside in the recent rain. Nothing that a good clean wouldn't sort, and I'd be surprised if it didn't get one before it leaves.

I'm sure it'll get a good clean before leaving shed at the weekend.

Due to the ongoing hot weather and lack of rain, an all diesel service will be in use until at least Sunday. There will be footplate rides at Bridgnorth and Kidderminster.
This past Saturday there were numerous lineside fires, and while Sunday was better, it seems wise to pull steam for the time being.

4930 ran light to BH this morning. It is due to do other test runs today but those might be canned due to late running today (Taw Valley having issues on Highley Bank).

I've seen some photos of 4930 and I must say it looks tremendous. I'm looking forward to seeing it in the not too distant future!

She looks amazing and is a real credit to the people who manage to get her steaming.

    ...

This does show it is possible for a separate group of supporters that comes under an umbrella of a railway, to raise funds and organise working parties to get a really knacked engine based on said railway in running order, and this is despite COVID 19 and other outside factors in the background...
