Just assumed it would be 2 steam trains as SR now have 3 working steam locos and Manston's overhaul is getting near to being finished.
Could be if the Wareham DMU service was running for 2022 the 2nd train could have been diesel, but it is not?
Can see a pump trolley being fun, eco freindly and also save on Gym costs, but sadly impracticable

What? The Blaenau Ffestiniog and Trawsfynydd mob? Too late .....

There's an Irish example, a former inspection vehicle (seriously!) preserved at Dromod. If we ask @Avonside2 nicely, he may have a photo .... it was in a dark corner of the shed when I last saw it.

Not due to start until tomorrow through to Monday. Although Tuesday now supposed to be the hottest day, so may get extended?
    Edit is now thru Tuesday.

All may turn into a couple of days next week only I guess, as if you believe the current forecast Friday thru Sunday now no warmer than today in Swanage.

I'm hoping for that change - not railway related, but thinking of choristers in cassocks and surplices over the weekend

Gosh darn it. Despite what the NP CME's say VivaRail announces 65m deal for Battery Power Class 321s. Quote from a VivaRail Official that "GBR will bring about the biggest changes on the rails in decades" Start filling those mutual improvement courses at Herston Village Hall!

A press release that says the following seems a long way clear of something tangible actually happening.
"EVERSHOLT Rail and Vivarail have signed an agreement aimed at developing a battery traction solution for the class 321 Renatus EMU fleet currently leased by Eversholt to British operator Greater Anglia."

To me this is a press release about on a par with Airbus saying they have received 200 orders at a Paris Air Show, many of which would never actually happen.

I see on the 21st 31806 should be on the Dorset Coast Express return from Weymouth to Southampton, providing the heat is better?.
Also running August and September, with the Swanage Belle Sept 8 (no 31806!).
Presumably some people can afford tickets.
Is the Dorset Coast Express (and Swanage Belle) shorter than the ECS Northern Belle?
When I visited Swanage a few days ago 31806's steam dome seemed to be under maintenance?.
