Reasonable comment. Clan Line is a much more modern locomotive

Still no RTT times. It's looking like it will be only one day ahead of the run - unusual.

Not sure why you're fretting so much.

The people who need to know the times - ie, passengers who are paying the money for the train to run (as well as the TOC and NR) - will have them as it has been reported upthread that tickets have gone out, so why are you making such a fuss?

Times will appear on RTT. It's worth noting that just because they're not on RTT yet, it doesn't mean the times aren't finalised, they simply haven't been uploaded yet.

Not fretting, just observing. I'm just trying to plan stuff around the run and it's unusual to have RTT updated so late. That's all.

You've posted three times in the last two days, I'd call that fretting and/or making a fuss. As I said above, for those that need the times they have them and that's all that matters really.

Although in all fairness I am on it but had hoped to meet a former work colleague at where I expect the water stop to be on the return. However it is probably way too late to arrange now and of course I only know the pick up and arrival times.
In the overall scope of things no big deal, but had thought I would have had time to arrange something, if my guess was correct for the water stop based on previous iterations of the tour.

Can you not arrange in principle, and then phone your colleague when you're on the train and know for certain?

Isn't this a standard path that has been used before on a Yeovil/Weymouth RTC trip? By that I mean Woking at 1005, water at Winchfield and Soton Loop on the return etc. The RTC confirmed times don't leave much else to need to know.

You'd be wrong on both counts, then. Still just observing/seeking thoughts. Yes, obviously those that need the times have them, but this is a forum where questions and speculation are still permitted, I believe. It's undeniably unusual for RTT to have the times so late (not there less than 24 hours before departure), so simply a comment on that (and I am trying to plan stuff accordingly). Don't worry.

I do not have a phone number for him and he is not great at picking up emails quickly. So something for another time.

Was beginning to wonder if they were plucking something out of the strategic reserve and we'd all have to sign the official secrets act to chase it

I understand a good return schedule. What a shame there is a DL on the back all day. Never used to be the case . Looking back in my notebooks to 9th July 2011 Tangmere was on its own all day and ran well. It could be done now but the effort isn’t made even on a special anniversary. In fact I can’t find any DL assisted run at all that year. That’s why I have pretty well lost interest now and I am not the only one. Yes I know we are in the minority but the Tour Companies don’t get my money now.

Is the DL for fire risk reasons, or purely operational?

Operational. Something has to take the train from Yeovil to Weymouth and bank the train up through Upwey.
