Just found this photo of 46100 by Peter Ainsworth taken at Crewe in 2013. Amazing when you see her now:

I’m still waiting for the day 46100 double heads with 46115… although from what I gather it now may be a while yet, if only…

I think you will have a very long wait for that. Two Castles on the other hand …

For some odd reason, I tend to forget just how late in the day the rebuilding programme continued.

I know, it’s still a nice little dream to have though.

I remember seeing 46100 piloting 46154 at Manchester Victoria on a Newcastle-Liverpool express in 1960.
The price you pay for seeing such wonderful sights is old age. But I'm still fighting fit! :) Fighting for breath and fit for nothing.:(

It’s a shame that 46100 may be out of service for a number of years without actually being overhauled if I understand things correctly.

We have had 2 Jubilees which must be the next best option.

With a good opinion about Royal Scot one would hope LSL would or will have an overhaul plan for because it is and has been a good mainline ticket. Also glad the 7p has been over Beattock northbound now!

Guessing it has had an extension to this boiler ticket. May there be a couple more years. It returned to steam in 2015. SVR and Mainline tests that year.

I doubt LSL would have spent the time doing a full mechanical overhaul on it if they werent intent on another boiler ticket.
