Times out for the first day to Edinburgh. Nothing for the Fife circle trip or return leg yet.

As paths go, it's not too bad. Only 40 minutes of the steam leg is sitting in loops, and one of them is a water stop. Plus a 20 minute leg stretch at Appleby, the only time in nearly 12 hours you'll be able to get off the train.

I would get water may be an issue for the kitchen car and toilets after 12 hours unless they can be tanked at Hellifield. Would that be possible even?

Toilets should be ok, the LSL Mk3s have got controlled emission toilets which use a lot less water than normal toilets. Kitchen car, no idea about water capacity, and I can't find any information about what it might be.

As long as it's gone by 10 am I would have thought that would get it to the charter in time.

Formation appears to be Statesman Mk2 brake, five Mk3s, maroon Mk1 kitchen car and two more Mk3s, with 47593 on the rear. Add in 46100 and its support coach and that'll be 6 different liveries. Lovely!

It's good that for once a later path is being used, means different locations are available for shots. Just a shame it's June, roasting hot, and the state of the stock!

    Oh deep joy !
Looks like the tomato plants have my full attention over the next few hot days.

On a serious note LSL have done well to put something together to avoid cancelling this so soon after the sale.

Whoop, harking back to the 80's with that livery selection, I can see a new brand SLOA being launched to accommodate this.

Or a 2022 take on the Pilkington set?

The Pilkington set at least matched itself thought didn't it. I was thinking more the the 80's SLOA trains where you would get some Pullman livery, a blue and grey and a raspberry ripple slotted in and then even an ETHEL for good measure.

Has RTT stopped updating or is the train still sat in Hellifield?

On time Beattock thanks to WCML up the spout further south. Hellifield to Edinburgh with just two stops looks a possibility.

46100 Royal Scot crosses Sheriff Brow viaduct with the Steam Dreams trip to Edinburgh on 16/6/2022
At 24 degrees there was never going to be much clag but this position does hide some of the very mixed coach liveries ! 15D_1716 copy.jpg
