Now that I'm back home and can see the pics and watch the videos on a large screen, and listen to the sound on good speakers, I add my heartfelt thanks to those linesiders who have posted here, and of course to all involved in restoring the loco and operating the trip.

A very good day with Sir Nigel in the North West Of England with a sparkling northbound run through Winsford and a solid climb up the S&C. The return over Shap was a tad muted but the sight of an A4 side on accompanied by the glinting sun and the local livestock made for a pleasing image. The final shot at Euxton jct was much better with SNG putting down the power nicely in the evening sunshine. Thanks to all who were involved.

Good images John but I am sure a certain Canadian resident on the Wareham thread will tell you a 500 mile drive to photograph a steam tour is not in line with Government policy.

Having had a full day out at the SVR Diesel Gala the previous day (left home at 06:00 back at 20:30) the early start to get to Crewe proved too much for this septuagenarian hence having to be satisfied for local scenes; the need to gain some domestic "brownie points" for future outings was also an important factor !

Minor correction ! Your final sequence was taken just south of Balshaw Lane Junction; Euxton Junction is two miles further north where the lines through Chorley to Bolton diverge.

Yes, you're right, I always mix the two up. My route knowledge isn't the best around that area.

Cheers Henry, this is what I prefer but sometimes I would like to just let the camera run but never do it.

A BBC camera chap mentioned to me a while back saying let the camera do the work and try not to trombone the clip if possible but everyone film’s differently otherwise life would be dull .

Agreed, You cant please everyone. Though, the BBC cameraman is probably working with a huge lens.

They've done a damn good job getting it steam tight, there's not a wisp of stray steam anywhere. Top class work fellas.

Having just seen an image from a friend of the two LSL 37's leaving Maiden Newton yesterday evening I can confirm the generator car was located behind the two locos. That train has been trundling around all weekend I believe possibly route refreshing among other things.

Fantastic to see SNG back on the mainline and performing well! Big question though, when will repainting into BR Blue be complete? The reason I ask is that Saphos tours are predominantly in the south west this summer.

I believe the painting is due to be finished for the back end of June from conversations overheard on Saturday on the platform

Thanks. 3 Fellsman tours and one to Stratford-Upon-Avon before SNG heads for the Moors. How many of those tours it will work remains to be seen.
