Your second picture is something I think photographers should attempt to get more often as a record shot, the most important people. The Crew.

I was on an RTC trip in Europe a few years ago and several times the crew/crews gathered for that kind of shot, and not restricted to the platform either.

I have taken some when the opportunity is there in the past such as the 6024 and 5029 support crews at Paddington. The crew yesterday posed while we were collecting our luggage and I only managed to get a quick shot from my phone with two ladies who had stopped to speak to them before they dispersed and I had to leave to catch my train home. The slow shutter speed creates a strange effect with the lights DSC_0840.JPG

It was a great day out chasing the train home yesterday, captured on the Dawlish Sea Wall, Nailsea & Backwell, Chippenham, Cholsey and Barnes Bridge. Hope everyone head a great time onboard, it seemed like they were from the lineside!

Recalling past years, it makes complete sense to go to either Scarborough or Edinburgh on Day 1 and the Devon Banks as a spectacular Conclusion to GB tours.

    Taking 2011, 2012, 2018 and 2022 into account!!!

Glad to see the whole event appeared to run without any significant difficulty (at least as can be seen from behind a keyboard).
Anyone know why Victoria was the final destination rather than Paddington? I notice the shadowing diesel did go up the GWML from Reading to Acton, rather than the long way around through Virginia Water and Hounslow.

Driver John 'Cushdy' Rogers ( a familiar face for anyone who regularly goes to Fort William) and fireman Fraser Birrell on Bahamas, I don't recognise the Duchess crew.

Well it would not be right not to include a picture of the real star of the show, RTC's Kelly Osborne who masterminded it all. She is seen here at Inverness with two of my West Coast colleagues, drivers Peter Walker and Chris Maguire IMG_3502 copy.jpg

Thanks for a great trip, Kelly

They must never be forgotten, long hours, difficult conditions and always smiling, well in front of the customers anyway. :)
