I was one of those many, many people, me and the family Box Brownie. Some of my efforts at Citadel and at the water stop at Blea Moor.

Love those old Box Brownie snaps from childhood - we all have them if we are of a certain age;). Interesting that the water facilities were still available at Blea Moor some three months after the end of steam.

The water column at the south of the loops was still there on 30th Sept 1978 and appears in my shots of 92220 on The Bishop Treacy, as was the tank by the signal box.
Whether they were still usable by then I wouldn't know.
And in 1979 there was still a bagless column at Foxfield on the coast line where the water tank also still stood.
Possibly for another thread - what was the last surviving water column I wonder ?

The one at Lazonby was still in situ on the down platform where I saw it in 1983. This is the one that is now at Appleby, installed there during 1991.

Too true. Being Midlands based some of the journeys this loco does will require a hell of a commitment from the support crew over several days.
