This TV film made in 1986 may not be to everyone's taste but it brought back a lot of memories. Set in Yorkshire in about 1960 it tells the story of three young lads off for a days trainspotting. OK, authenticity wasn't the film makers priority but I suppose they meant well.
The music is good though, for those of a certain age, but be warned, there is a lot of bad language and a little bit of nudity.
It was filmed on the KWVR and at Steamtown in Carnforth along with a glimpse of the SVR.
The opening titles are about 5 minutes in and it's an hour long so put the kettle on!

Thanks for posting this. Never seen this programme before. 75078 upgraded to a Standard 5 73081 at the KWVR was interesting.

I enjoyed my visit to the Tallylyn Railway for the first time in many years on Good Friday. It was great to join their 'stations at stations' with Bishop Barry and members from Tywyn Churches Together following the stations of the cross at the stations along the line.
I've included a few clips of No.7 'Tom Rolt' on this special train, plus scenes of No.3 'Sir Hadyn' and No.4 'Edward Thomas' on service trains.
Hope you enjoy the video! Feedback welcome ☺️

Not previously posted AFAICS, I hope this (AI enhanced and "colorized" - not my spelling!) footage of wartime London [17'24"] is of some interest. I doubt anyone under 40 will comment on the absence of pigeons in Trafalgar Square, but it stood out to me, as did the grime on Nelson's Column (cleaned up long before they got round to sandblasting the Palace of Westminster).

Until 12'30", probably more the sort of thing to float your boat if you happen to be in to vintage road vehicles, but some images of Waterloo show a (surprisingly clean) 4-6-0, though can't even make out a nameplate, so not sure if it's an H15, N15 or S15. The "Woolworths" mogul No.1613 was clearer. Pretty sure the station pilot is an M7. Interesting array of passenger stock on display, including some short bogie carriages of a type I'd though extinct except on the IoW by the 1940s. There are also a few assorted "Hornbys" on view.

It did make me realise the importance of 'barrage balloons' and wonder who made and repaired 'em and how on earth all the hydrogen (which only ever filled the top portion - hence limp fins when tethered down - who knew?) was produced and transported.

Buses range from pre-LT open toppers, with 'six wheelers' galore. Several open staircases in evidence. A decent smattering of trolleybuses too. The clip could've used a lot more trams IMO! Most of the more modern buses sport wartime 'utility' bodywork.

On the river, check out the sheer number of cranes and barges immediately downstream from Tower Bridge. Have to say, whoever 'colorized' that film never saw the Thames back then. It was still filthy in 1960/70s, long after the docks fell out of use.
