From the diesel section (and I know some may be uninterested), but D1015 is due to arrive back at Kidderminster from the mainline at 12:59 (in Kidder mainline 12:50 - 54), so plenty of activity likely around then.
813 arrival at 12:50, with the goods
    1501+9466 depart 12:55
    realtime trains for light engine

Very enjoyable first visit to the SVR today. Believe there was some issues with late running according to a member of staff on one of the services I travelled on, but no one seemed to be complaining.

I look forward to returning to next year’s gala too with any luck

Storming run up to the tunnel by 1501 & 813 this morning, both drivers had big grins on their faces at Kidderminster - hope someone posts some footage later!

813 has been failed, replaced by 7714 on freight. 1501 substitute for 7714, 9466 running single headed.

Unfortunately I am unable to attend this year. But I am there in spirit due to the excellent webcams. For example, in the last 10 minutes on the Kidderminster platform webcam there has been-
Black pannier tank on a goods coming in,
Western passing and reversing onto the SVR,
9466 leaving with a passenger train,
and now 75069 shunting the goods train.

813 withdrawn for the rest of the gala. Timetable on website has been updated for the weekend

It seems it’s almost an unofficial gala tradition that something fails at some point with some of the diagrams then shifted about. Part of the joys of steam!!!

Do we know what the issue is? Certainly seemed very little wrong with her this morning and she worked the freight to Bewdley OK (but seemingly declared a failure on arrival). Hope nothing too serious, a firm favourite with me!

Just returned from a very enjoyable day. Weather played ball and a good variety of locos. Trains started off very quiet but got progressively busier as day went on. We were lucky and managed to get a compartment to ourselves for most of the day, but last train of the day with Pitchford Hall was full and we stood at a window. We decided to call it a day at this point.
The timetable went a little awry following the failure of 813 and swapping of locos to accommodate, but wasn't far off catching up by time we left, probably about 10 adrift.
Overall a quite relaxed feeling gala, probably well suited to the times we currently live in. I hope it proves a success.

Great visit to the SVR. We'll organised and run. 4953 looked good and went well but the only double header was a tour de force. 9466 and 1501 stormed out of Bewdley and up to the tunnel with a heavy train.

My video and a few photos from yesterdays visit to the gala. Numbers seemed a little down at times, even considering it was a Friday, though the obvious current global situation will exaplain some of that. Maybe I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time for people!

Numbers were a bit down on usual - no problem parking at Kidderminster this year or finding a seat on the trains, but I'd say it was still well attended. Maybe it's the ongoing Covid effect or the fact the the gala was a bit scaled down from usual (simpler timetable and only 2 visiting locos) or that there was no "celebrity" loco visiting. Not complaining though - 4953 looks great in lined black and 9466 looked and sounded good too. I'm not a great fan of Hawksworth panniers but the two of them double-heading worked well. Many thanks to all involved for putting on a good show as usual. P1060935.JPG

Can't help but think how many charters they could've ran with 4953! Would've looked at home on the GWR rake, Mk1s and GWR Goods!
