That's right John, been lucky on many occasions in the past so can't complain.

Does anyone know which of the Black 5s are out this week please? I’ve seen 45212 has also returned facing Fort William.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Up there from the 24th so wonder if we'll get the same combo then.

I understand 45407 is due for a washout the last week of September, so looks like you can do sound recording in the morning and photting in the afternoon.

Last roster I had been enlightened to confirmed that, however things have been known to change as requirements unfold. Last week of afternoon train is expected to be No. 45212 on the morning, 44871 on the afternoon.

Bit of a shame if that's the case as I was looking forward to the variety of locos facing opposite directions. Will mean some of the west facing locations I wanted to do will have to wait for another time. Got a list of eastbound shots for both trains though.

Believe it should be No. 45407 on the morning and No. 44871 on the afternoon.

Just to update, 44871 now on washout. 45407 on morning, 212 on afternoon (currently sitting in a windy but sunny Mallaig).

So its time for five of us to have our annual week of finding some weather gaps and chasing the Jacobite. It will be unusual this year having a lie in and not one but two East facing trains to chase, first time in seven years for me, so hopefully several new locations to go at.
I know several others heading up for what might turn into a mini "bash", who else is around next week?

Around all week, depending on weather I may however return to work and save some leave for later in October...

More importantly, just how windy is it James? At least with some wind, the chances of the cloud breaking up is significantly better...

Just arrived at a damp Fort William. Could anyone be so kind as to tell me tomorrow’s roster?
