Pullman "Princess Ena"

    This car was one from the final batch of American imports.
    Here's a photo of it being craned out, before being transported to Petworth:

    Can't help but wonder just how straightforward mounting such a body onto a pair of BR1 bogies, even as a non-runner would be.
    Any further info on this most welcome.

    Looks like it lacks an under frame, so the hard part would be sorting that. A modified Mk1 underframe would already suit BR1 bogies while a new underframe would simply be designed to suit them.
    BR1 bogies don't give the best ride though

    These early Pullmans tended to have a timber monocoque underframe which was integral with the carriage structure. Its very hard to see, but there is a the suggestion of the bogie mounting points in the photo. Also, you'll see in some of the photos below, the headstocks are present, along with ghost marks for the buffing gear. I guess ride quality won't be too much of an issue, considering where its gone to, and the purpose it will fulfill.
