You are welcome to link to my YouTube clips from 2007:

I'm sure I uploaded the footage as HD (720P, I think) but YouTube has down-rez'ed it to 240P.

An interesting point made by @69530 from the 35011 GSN thread on ability for Bulleid Pacifics to share tenders in preservation rather than build & maintain one for each loco.

This prompted the question in my mind of which Bulleid's yet to be returned to steam in preservation, have a chance of so doing, or considered little or no chance?

Those that from my reckoning are still in the 'to be restored' from scrap condition are :

34010 Sidmouth - a strong contender as the next to be restored by SLL at Swanage
34051 Sir Winston Churchill - no requirement for restoration imho
34058 Sir Fred Pile - a long term prop for MHR
34073 249 Squadron - in my view the least chance of being restored as things stand - at Carnforth
35009 Shaw Savill - under restoration at Riley's ?? I have no idea what progress is being made however?
35010 Blue Star - a long term contender needing a new cylinder - at Colne Valley, Essex
35011 GSN - stands to be a strong contender at S&C Rly
35022 HAL - not sure what prospects are for this one - at LSL Crewe
35025 Brocklebank Line - recent acquisition for SLL at Swanage
35029 Ellerman Lines - museum piece

Any I've missed, please correct and any comments on prospects and latest information would be welcome.

With 35009 we do get nuggets of progress thrown our way every so often. I remember seeing a photo of her bogie wheels fully restored and a photo of her front bogie coming together late last year.

Riley's are pretty good at showing stuff when there's something to show. Their facebook page gives an impression of people who like what they do and want to show it off.

I have no inside knowledge, so this is nothing more than a guess, but I would imagine 35009 is an "as and when" job, when machines and people are free between contract jobs.

I think 35010 was donated the old tender tank from 35027 a few years ago, as a new one was made for 35005 as I remember.

Aren't they planning on using the tender frames from schools class tender snow plough for 35010

35025 Brocklebank Line is being worked on by an SLL team at Sellinge (Not Swanage) and steady progress is being made - it will be next in line, after 34010 Sidmouth, to be restored.

Yes, it is my understanding that frames from ADS70229 (T733) ex Schools 30923 'Bradfield' at Colne Valley Railway are to be used in conjunction with a recycled tender tank from 35027

Good point Phil - the locomotive resides at Sellinge and not Swanage/Herston.

Please can I ask all shareholders in Wadebridge 34007 Locomotive Ltd to contact us via the website if they have not received the newsletter and paperwork we sent out last month.

Not a shareholder Dave. However I will comment that the new website is a vast improvement over the the previous one.

It is good to see that 34028 Eddystone has emerged onto the Swanage Railway looking immaculate from the work done at Herston. The black backed nameplates are a nice touch.
Another tribute to the SLL organisation.

First merchant navy haulage from this Saturday at the GWSR with 35006 rostered for the weeks running. Note: engine is on test later this week after a period of maintenance and so I’ll let you know how that goes.

But has steamed in preservation, and therefore wasn't eligible for the list....

''34081 92 Squadron on low loader heading for Loughborough. Is this to GCR or Locomotive Services?''

Wansford MPD Facebook Page a few days ago confirm the loco is going to Locomotive Maintenance Services for inner firebox repairs (https://www.facebook.com/WansfordMPD/posts/300472998255012)

Correct. Easier to move the loco to the boiler smith than have them trek to and fro with all their gear.
