It will be interesting to see whether this remains the case. The train runs into Eastfield Passenger Loop to allow the 5s to be turned on the Cowlairs Triangle as apparently the Fort William turntable is not available for use.

    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U91270/2021-04-12/detailed

It's perhaps looking more like the 37 hauling the train over the WHL with the 5s on the rear Might that mean the 5s are leading with the 37 inside from Carnforth though? Hopefully a proper tale will emerge before Monday.

I believe that the Black 5's will be leading boiler first from Mosssnd to Eastfield, then lead tender first from Cowlairs West Jnc to Fort William.

Thanks Jonathon. Tender-first Black 5s have to be a better prospect than a 37 (with apologies to @Matt37401):)

According to a post by a WCRC fitter on wnxxforum.co.uk, the diesel involved on Monday's trip is 57001.

Although 57001 will be leading a forecast of -3 with clear skies might make for good video and photos.

Thanks for sharing Nigel. Perfect conditions for it. Looked a tad on the Nippy side.
