For those of us who are unfamiliar with this Sir Gerald and his impact on the SVR, could 2e have a quick summary?

My memories have dimmed over the years Tom, but his plans to sell off Bridgnorth Station were the final nail in the coffin for me. His own coffin was nailed soon after and, whilst I have no wish to speak ill of the dead, his death turned out well for the SVR. The loss of Bridgnorth station would have been a tragedy for the line.
As a complete aside, Nabarro amassed a set of 9 personalised number plates, NAB 1 - NAB 9:).

This looks like a great idea: https://www.svr.co.uk/NewsItem.aspx...wbacWG1BzxJd6dcmPr_8uTR-X6E1z6zATu97-TwkUEonQ combining your journey with a visit to Arley Arboretum.

Gran's been angling for a ride on the SVR but she likes to combine it with something else which has been tricky with the current set booking arrangements, but that would be perfect. Only trouble is the days all finish a bit late for her at 5/5:30pm, could some kind soul send me a WTT so I can see if and when it might be convenient for us to bail out early, pretty please? Many thanks.

That statement could be true for either of both parties!

Looking forward to this 2021 gala with 2999 since I didn't get chance to get to the S.V.R. in 2020 due to the pandemic. I went to didcot in may 2019 whilst doing one of vintage T when I was sat opposite you bleeder on the 7029 trips to oxford but Lady of legend must have been tucked up in 1 of the sheds that day this time I could be in luck.

I have read they can convert it to run with less wheels in the middle. Will this be happening soon?

Not for a while, it’s quite a big job from what I’ve read. I think the GWS is still fund raising for that to happen.

It’s West Country for less coupled wheels. They do speak think and act in odd ways west of Brissle.
