    The 504s on Bury to Manchester did too, you could always get a seat on them though.

    As I remember my few trips in them, though, it wasn't always so easy to stay in the seat. And as for comfort while running fast (Crewe-Liverpool stoppers could get up a decent turn of speed) in their close relatives, the 304s:eek:

    A person i known told me he lost his virginity on a pacer set, dont weather he meant sexually or just riding on a pacer unit.

    Maybe this should be the subject of its own thread, but with the demise of the Pacers, where can you now find the worst ride on the national network? The Class 139s (aka Parry People Movers) on the Stourbridge Branch are pretty rough, not helped by jointed rail and a major league wheel flat on one of the units. On the plus side it's less than a mile and you don't get up much speed. So where else can you go to be 'all shook up'?
