Is J Beesley still in business?? He was the best source for loads of footplate stuff. I've not seen his ad in Steam Railway where he always advertised lately. Has he retired or worse?? I was hoping to pick up a few things from him.

He's still in existence, but I believe he sold his business years ago? Can't remember who to though, sorry.

Yes I'm aware of that chap however he doesn't sell the loco lamps, guards lamps, oil cans. I was after a few of the products only Beesley offered. I really wanted a set of his Midland loco lamps too. That sucks to hear he retired.

John made the lamps himself and when he sold the business, that part of it disappeared. Oil cans can be obtained from the Hetherington lamp co. (http://www.hetheringtonlamp.co.uk) although they are not the same as the pourers John produced. They may make you some suitable loco lamps.
I've just tried accessing their website but it doesn't seem to be working properly
