Lizzie sounded very well today considering she's been tucked away for 11 months. Thankfully the drain cock blow was on the drivers side. The driver of the 57 was keen to help but I doubt anyone on board cared much, some great conditions at Shap for the return.

Really loved the final sequence (not sure the Hon Member for the IOWSR will though!)

Lizzie at Bay Horse before the sun made an appearance, a windy Risehill Tunnel and in glorious conditions at Great Strickland

Wonderful to see Lizzie in full flow yesterday, especially in some beautiful evening light at Great Strickland, possibly the best sight and sound on the mainline this year? Considering her long lay off, it was a great return to action.

After a disappointing start at Bolton Percy cloud wise the return leg of Lizzie made the long day more than worth it !

What is it about LMS draincocks that makes them so prone to leaking?
