Why would the NVR want one when they have the more interesting Swedish Railcars there anyhow?

Not official policy AFAIK but some volunteers seem keen on the idea and it's they who have started the idea. Classic WIBN if you ask me.

A pacer in Peterborough seems appropriate. Both are run down and a bit s**t.

Point of order: Such views weren't exactly uncommon, concerning anything steam powered, back at the dawn of our movement. Future generations will likely see things differently ..... and may even conclude we were all barking mad! :D

Totally agree, the Swedish railcar is a unique selling point for the railway and they should use that to there advantage.

Another WIBN would be a continental day later in the year with the Slask, Tinkerbell (once her overhaul is complete) and the Railcar!

The Nene Valley is in luck. It seems they have been awarded £47,000 for the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Good news that the NVR is taking tentative steps towards re-opening. Hope everything goes well and we can get back to using 34081 again. She’s been sat idle for far too long.

Been to the nene valley railway today to cop a ride behind 4612 G.W.R. pannier tank when we got to Overton ferry meadows she failed on the 10:20am with a air lock in the lubrication system so the class 14 diesel had to rescue us back to wansford and do the honours of taking charge of the 12:50pm to peterborough anyhow 4612 must have been mended and she is now on the 15:20pm to peterborough return anyhow my pic of her at wansford 20200829_141812.jpg

34081 was originally booked for the Bank Holiday services but was dropped in favour of 4612 once it arrived on the railway.
Hope you visited the 34081 shop and spent some money. :)

Would anyone on here know what loco will be working next Saturday? It's currently Tba on the website but the polish tank is working Sunday so I guess it could be that, but would anyone know for sure?

Ian, in the nicest possible way, I think you could do with a little chat with Mr Allat on your sales chat! ;):):)

The Polish tank has yet to prove itself so the situation regarding the loco is a bit fluid.

Understandable, cheers. Hopefully it's either that or the Panny.

Going from comments received in the Polish Tanks Group on Facebook - It is the Polish Tank & 45041 on Saturday and the Pannier Tank on Sunday.

Apparently the cream tea is an additional service and the timetable is being worked on - so not sure if that could mean the polish tank would be on the continental stock?!
