Announcement from the North Norfolk Railway

We are incredibly excited to announce that we are now booking for August 2020!

Our new service will consist of not one, but two locomotives hauling six returns from Sheringham throughout the day starting on August 1st, and we'll be opening the station at Holt as well!

For return journeys, you can book as of right now at www.nnrailway.co.uk

    - if you'd like to book a single journey, you'll need to come to the railway on the day of travel and ask the ticket office at either Holt or Sheringham stations.

Compartment tickets for up to four people are still £35 for a return journey, with additional adults at £10 and additional children aged between 4-15 at £5 each.

No need to get alarmed on that score - in case you don't know the geography of West Yorkshire, Kirklees is a big area stretching from the north side of Barnsley to the southern outskirts of Bradford and Leeds. The reported hot spots a few weeks ago were at the opposite end of the District to Clayton West. The Railway has displayed a professional approach from Day One and right now there is no cause for a further closure.

My 3rd visit to a heritage railway post covid 19 easing of social distancing this time at the Embsay and Bolton abbey railway its ok for booking for 1 passenger return at £12 inc booking fee i got a 6 seater to myself in corridor compartment stock the train formed of 2 mk1,s and Illingworth is the tanky in steam up here today not sure if will be different traction tomorrow or next w,end anyhow, im not sure what it works out for 2 or more passengers or a group of 6 but reccomended for any solo enthusiasts or familys looking for a cheap good day out on a standard gauge line for a 8 mile round trip. Anyhow my snap of Illingworth. Davo 56F

As it stands, fares have been fixed at normal levels regardless of how many are in your party. Compartments available for 1-8 persons (within own social bubble). It was 'Cumbria' today (26/07/2020) as Sunday's 'Dales Diners' has been combined with the service set during the COVID timetable. Normally Illingworth would haul the dining train in the 2nd path.

Elsecar heritage railway and centre not due to reopen for the remainder of the 2020 season due to the corona crisis and even talk on yorkshire live there are ongoing talks by the heritage railway owners about financial problems and if the board who own it can find a way to keep it open for 2021 and something about that 2150 mardy monster 0.6.0. hunslet has been sold without the board knowing to raise costs to keep the railway afloat.

South Tynedale website has been updated to say no trains will be running this year due to a combination of operational, financial and Covid 19 reasons.

Very sad, I am planning to holiday in the area at the end of the summer and will probably now give Alston a miss.

Well after the speech today after 12pm from B.J. and C.W. imposing a local lockdown on the north west and parts of W yorks until the 15 august, Im assuming is this going to affect the 1st day post covid 19 easing of restrictions of reopening of the east lancs heritage railway by the looks of some posts on the unofficial E.L.R. facebook page, and maybe the kirklees light railway (although ive looked on K.L.R. website and it dosent mention anything about not opening on saturday 1st august). And the reopening of the K.V.W.R. may be affected in mid august if the new restrictions go on longer than the 15 of august? Can anyone on nat pres shed more light on this.

East Lancs services will not restart this weekend (reopening postponed at least one week)
