With the Fellsman running this Wednesday, has there been anything stirring within Crewe?

With the first train of the season scheduled for tomorrow, does anyone know if the TSR between Dent Head and Arten Gill is still in place?

Not a good forecast for tomorrow - wet for most of the day until late afternoon.

BR Standard Class 7MT 4-6-2 N0. 70000 Britannia at the head of Saphos Trains 'The Fellsman' charter, the first revenue earning steam hauled service on the WCML since lockdown began, seen charging through Hartford station en route to Carlisle.

Only 9+POB so the Class 47 shouldn't need to do anything other than burble away on the back and no doubt turn the whole train at Carlisle.

I wonder if anyone on board saw the new sign as they approached Pleasington, “Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council welcomes you to Covid Country. Please ensure that you are wearing your face covering.” Seriously, as of now people in BwD must wear face coverings in shops, libraries, workplaces etc - fine of £100 for not doing. Covid 19 is alive and well and cases in certain parts of Blackburn are rising, Darwen is ok but regulations appear to apply throughout the Borough.

Just watched the tour through Horton on the webcam. At least 7 photographers jammed into the platform end, no masks worn. Yes it is outdoors but lots of chatting going on maybe Social Distancing has not reached the wilds of the S&C yet. I wonder what Carlisle will be like.

Climbing out of Blackburn in the drizzle, solid 2 cylinder bark. Four of us on this re-generated location, all well over 2 metres apart! P1120201.JPG

Poses an interesting question though Henry.

If you choose your 'spot' at a station like Horton leaving plenty space around you, what do you then do when your personal space is invaded ?
Pick up your gear and move on or politely (maybe) ask the latecomers to respect your space since you were there first.

Stations, overbridges and the like are problematic at the best of times.
