Sorry, thought I was on the music thread! ;)

As has been said, the music is irrelevant; if you want your particular railway to survive this forced hiatus then we, the enthusiasts, need to help, if you want to give to a number of railways at once then 30742 Charters are running an appeal which is supporting a few.

Personally, any support I can give will be to Swanage (https://saveourservice.co.uk/).

Donated (I rather liked the music..). Many happy memories of the SR from childhood camping holidays in Purbeck!

Also, a relatively small thing but many thanks for using PayPal for donations - not every railway does this, and it makes a material difference for those of us currently overseas who want a quick and easy way to donate to these appeals (and to avoid a phonecall with the bank when they think some odd UK-based organisation with a funny name is trying to scam you.. Great amusement listening to my American bank try to pronounce 'Keighley' a few weeks ago).

What about Glen Miller - Chattanooga Choo Choo or Honneger Pacific 231?

The first time I've heard that complete. My father's copy had a bit broken off (occupational hazard with shellac 78s) and we had to start it about 45 seconds in. Good to hear it again.

There are many requests for donations in this horrible time and there are limits to how much money can be donated. It is worth considering while we are unable to volunteer, that the heritage railways will not just need money to get going again, but an increase in volunteer hours until everything returns to normal. It would be good if the railways could give some idea of where they will need increased volunteer labour to overcome shutdown problems - what additional work needs to be done before the trains can run as before.

I used to run the PRS contract at one time when I was at BA. I forget if it is 50 or 100 years before music does not have to be paid for. I know my hairdresser (do we remember them from a time past?) had to pay a PRS fee for playing the radio in his shop if the customers were able to hear it.

It's actually called "Coronation Scot" by Vivian Ellis. You can see it performed here
I believe it's also available as a free download. Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Ray.

There's far too much music appearing in this thread. Stop it at once, it's silly.

Mr Mellish, your wish is my command sir. Below is a version of the same video but without the soundtrack contained. We hope you like this video and thank you for your support in advance.

This is one of our short videos focusing on one of our younger fireman, Alex Atkins. It takes you on a brief journey on his volunteer experience and what the railway means to him.
