Because some people like to put 2 and 2 together and make 5. There's not much else to do at the mo! ;)

Conceivable as well that it gives them an opportunity to barter for a coach that is more to their liking. They may be reckoning it is hard to buy a Mark 1 TSO, easier to part-exchange with a CK.

Jeremy puts money into Llangollen. Llangollen to overhaul Jeremy's 92212. Llangollen based carriage moves to Jeremy's railway. Not hard to see why I thought that.

Still no connection. Several people were interested, but best offer came from P & D.
Didn't know JH owned that railway.

Jeremy might of not liked it and paid them to get rid of it and put it on the railway as he’s in charge. It might be good if they want to do a Harry Potter day or shuttles with the new priary at the gala

I'm not sure if it's the isolation getting to me, but I simply don't understand this post.

Wasn't there a piece in 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' about monkeys writing Shakespeare?

Yes, but subsequently Facebook has proven that theory to be without basis....

Well, seems like someone's dipping their toes into the water. No doubt that others will keep an eye on them to see how it goes and just how feasible it is.

As their buses run a recognised route they are most likely classed as a public service. Whether heritage railways are classed as a public service or tourist attractions remains to be seen. Most government pronouncements seem to need clarifications. Boats have an advantage that some areas are in fact in the open air and not all in confined spaces so that may make it more easily dealt with. The train carriages seem to have been adapted already.

Morning all, great news about the re-opening. Does anyone know when “Goliath” is due to return to the DSR after overhaul?
Pete Best on Facebook says 2253 wont be available for a small while as some work and testing is required, leaves only 2 operational steam locos. Pretty tight if one was to fail.

Goliath, 5239, returned to the railway shortly after the lock-down commenced.

Jeremy Hoskins I believe acquired 29.9% of the issued share capital of the Company. To acquire any more he would have to then make an offer for all of the remaining shares. The shares were purchased from a single investor as far as I know. 29.9% of shares does not come close to obtaining a controlling interest.

That’s great news, I know ESR we’re hoping to keep hold of the loco for the gala along with 4555.

Looking forward to seeing the smoke trails and hearing the whistles when we are out on our quiet, away from the tourist trail, afternoons out. A fair wind I can hear the whistles from home when the train, arrives and departs intermediate station, halt and tunnel. The whistle sound of the USATC loco last year appeared to travel well.
