    I found another link from 2012; https://www.national-preservation.c...de-for-preservation-but-later-scrapped.34630/

you might say that Diesel Hydraulic D818 'Glory' was one that was 'preserved' to some degree at Swindon Works and then scrapped
Similarly, K&WVR had D2519 from NCB Hatfield Colliery in 1982 before scrapping as a source of spares for D2511 already purchased from NCB Brodsworth Colliery in 1977
I believe a few Class 11 diesels have been saved from industrial use and then subsequently scrapped.
    I'm sure there's more others can recall - and then there's 42859?

D2519 was a sad case as I recall... I remember seeing it newly-restored, then a few weeks later it has disappeared - Scrapped. Real shame.

NYMR PW have scrapped a number of machines over the years including a 5 ton Smith and Rodley crane and more recently Tamper 73214.

The tamper however has provided a large amount of spare parts that also fit our other tampers. 73250 + 73307

    (So was 7802!)

3612 was, and was scrapped on the SVR. The distinction I was trying to draw was that 1502/1509 were bought but never made it to the SVR and so weren't on the SVR 'list'.

If you're moving beyond 'engines' the list would be very long!

    Cheers

    Patrick

I heard that crane got scrapped to as I knew someone into cranes the Plymouth valley railway also scrapped a crane and he said also an engine too and I’ve also hear of another engine being scrapped and there are also some tank engines in a scrap yard somewhere about 4 of them
