Does anyone have drawings for the wheelsets, axleboxes, hornguides, spring gear, brake gear etc for a BR1 bogie?

Whilst stuck at home (with a 3D CAD package, so life could be worse) I'm trying to do the design work on a project which involves building a new steel under-frame for a 4 wheel wooden coach, using a mixture of the key components of a BR1 bogie, and some wagon spares.

I've got a GA of a BR1 bogie, but it's rather thin on actual dimensions... in normal times, I'd go and take a ruler to a convenient MK1, but obviously that options isn't available right now! Can anyone help?

A GA or two of the underframe of a generic 1930s/40s steel underframed wooden wagon would also be quite helpful too (bonus points if Vac braked) if anyone has anything like that.

Unable to help I'm afraid, but sounds like an interesting project. Are you able to say any more about it?

Mk I bogie wheels might be too small, if your going to look at tried and tested , I would base your dimensions on a 4 wheel PMV, vehicle or similar. the brake rigging on a Mk1 bogie will be different, , where as any PMV , CCT, brake parts will be about right

I'm not sure how public the project in question is (I'm not really a coach type, I've just said I'll do the design for this group - I'm more usually to be found doing boiler work at the railway where this group is based) -if they weren'tpplanning on going public now, I don't want to spoil their press releases by telling everyone what they are up to...

Mk1 BR1 wheels are exactly the correct size - this is the main reason why we want to use mk1 parts. The team doing this carrage have already converted other wagon/van chassis to carry coach bodies, but there wasn't anything available which matched this body well so they've decided to go a step further with a new chassis.

The rest of it will be laid out fairly like a CCT chassis, but resusing as much of the MK1 brake gear as is sensible (there is also a donor wagon which is giving up buffers, draw gear and some brake gear). I know pretty much what I'm trying to achieve, and why, I just need the drawings so I can make all the bits fit in CAD...

Fair enough, I look forward to seeing it when it eventually emerges! :)
