Dang, you're faster than me, but I wanted to include a gift aid form, and an excuse to ride the bike :)

If you already Gift Aid your GWRT membership subscription, Glyn already has a Gift Aid Declaration from you, he doesn't need another one. He has confirmed that to me.

I guessed as much, but you never know. Maybe I was looking for an excuse to use the bike again ;)

Do you know how the vote went on Wednesday? It's gone quiet.

    Breva,
Can you use your influence to get the GWRS to accept payments by Paypal, please, then I will make a donation.

Alternatively, PayPal the monies to me, and I will pass it on. Honest!:)

I have 'exerted my influence' :) and we are working on it. However, there isn't a timescale yet.
I would say make a bank transfer, as then you can giftaid it and get the extra 25%. We need all the money we can find.

There are supporters outside the country who cannot use the internal bank transfer system. PayPal or credit cards would help.

Overseas donors could use IBAN, and the advantage of bank transfer over Paypal or credit card is that there is no transaction fee/commission payable by the recipient.

Use Paypal 'Friends and Family' and any charges are paid by the sender.

I can't see any reason why money sent by Paypal isn't equally valid for Gift Aid?

You may be right, I'm not an expert on the gift aid system.

International transfers can be done with TransferWise. Much easier and cheaper than western union

Gift Aid doesn't care how donations are made - but from experience, different ways of transferring money can be more or less difficult to track back to individual donors.

Come to think of it, don't you have to be a UK tax payer?

Yes - because you are asked to certify that you have paid more tax in the year than you are requesting is reclaimed through Gift Aid.

As a church Gift Aid secretary, I can assure folks that Gift Aid can be claimed on donations from UK taxpayers made by any means, cash, cheque, bank transfer, PayPal, credit card, debit card, contactless etc.
There is also a secondary scheme for small cash or contactless donations (GASDS or Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme) where the donor does not even have to be a taxpayer, but this is limited to donations of £30 or less, made by cash or contactless card, and, in a church context at least, at a gathering or meeting of at least 10 people. So that scheme is certainly not relevant to the present circumstances.
