The SVR website ticket selling part seems to not have two day rovers available for the Friday and Saturday (17th and 18th), however there are two options for 16th and 17th for adults.

Every time I access it, it shows different options, sometimes the same tickets more than once.

However, there doesn't seem to be the ability to purchase members tickets for the event.

Did wonder if a member would have to book as a child given the identical pricing
    https://www.svr.co.uk/SEItem.aspx?a=146

But then there is a note at the bottom of the page
*Members must phone 01562 757900 to pre-book tickets in advance.

Yes, that was pointed out to me on the SVR Forum. Bit of a backwards step as members tickets have been available for purchase online for the last couple of years.

Very much a backwards step, and especially annoying for those who work office hours and found it more convenient to book tickets in the evening. I'd like to know the reasoning behind the change.

I try not to speculate, but it seems the SVR are now using Digitickets for online sales. They used them before for some events, but I think they've extended it.

Had a similar problem. On 'phoning, a very helpful lady explained that it is due to the change of supplier to the company mentioned not being aware of this category of ticket. They are aware of this issue and should have a 'fix' later in the year.

Thank you. That sounds as though "later in the year" will be too late for this gala, which is annoying, but at least it sounds as though it might be sorted out by the autumn. Somewhat bizarre the new supplier wasn't aware of the category, though. Communications failure there, albeit a minor one.

"Later in the year" is a bit earlier than we all expected. I just went onto the website and members tickets can now be purchased for the Gala, so I did. Note that this is currently via the Gala tickets page, not the "members tickets" page.

Thanks for update, looks like they've managed a fix. Not sure if temporary or permanent though!

Actually looks a really good event, with the return an evening service in terms of a round trip from each end both Friday and Saturday. Well done SVR!

Webiste suggesting a third visitor to join 2999 / 48305.

    Guessing home fleet of 813 / 1450 / 1501 / 2857 / 6960 / 7714 / 34027 / 43106 / 75069, with 1or2 of them playing the role of thunderbird / reserve?

Any hope of the Austerity getting to play?

    3rd Visitor Announced.

    Panniers aplenty!
We'll be seeing triple at our Spring Steam Gala in April, as we welcome Pannier Tank No. 1638, to star alongside our very own 'Matchboxes' No. 1501 and No. 7714.
A design that dates back to the introduction of the Saint Class, No. 1638 has its origins in the GWR's 1897-1905 built 2021 Class and shares a number of leading dimensions with the earlier locomotives.
Visiting from our friends at the The Kent & East Sussex Railway, the little Pannier Tank will double-head with 'big sister' No. 7714 on a number of full line services, as well as work local trains between Bewdley and Highley.
Pre-book your tickets now to save 15%!

The government have just announced a ban on mass gatherings, I presume a gala constitutes a "mass gathering". I guess we'll see soon.

There are a few weeks to go yet however in the current climate there has to be a question mark

the risk is standing room only in a carriage with someone who is infectious and is not showing symptoms .

Until they move to massively curtail commuting into major cities I can't see this being an issue.
