Visits for autistic children to see "Clan Line"

Thanks to the MNLPS, we have arranged visits for autistic children to see "Clan Line" in her shed in Battersea on Saturday, 30 November.

As this is a working railway depot, the children need to be *at least* 9 years old and each child must be accompanied by an adult. The visits will last an hour, and include access to the footplate and the support coach. The loco will not be in steam.

There are a few places left for these visits, so if you know an autistic steam enthusiast who can get to Battersea this Saturday, please email engineshedlondon@gmail.com for details of timings and tickets.

I have heard really good things about the event from my colleagues within the MNLPS and regret I was not available to come and support on the day due to work commitments with Network Rail. We should do more of this sort of thing in the wider railway industry so it is pleasing that we may yet do another event like this next year. Well done to all involved, I hear it went very well.

So what *can* the wider railway and preservation industry do to help these children get involved in their favourite hobby?

I can access thousands of families with autistic children who would love to attend similar events. We just need the contacts to make it happen.

I'm open to suggestions...
