When Taff Vale 28 made it's first public appearance after restoration, in front of the TV crews, it was the first time the whistle had been re-fitted. The new push rod to it had been precisely measured with the loco cold. Unfortunately as the boiler warmed up and expanded it moved a bit back into the cab and the whistle mounted on the safety valve turret sounded slightly with each revolution of the wheels.

Request, has anyone got an action shot of SG that I could use to make a birthday card for my brother.

Austin Whitehead ( acw71000) should have a belting shot in the snow at Aisgill Ralph.

Agreed that is also a fine shot but the winter shot is more apt for a birthday in December.
