    Nice pictures John.
Full dull and drizzle at Irwell Vale when 926 and 34092 came up but by the time 60009 arrived so did the sun!

A very enjoyable morning at the Lancs today, with beautiful weather to boot. The glint at Burrs this morning was rather delicious...

Thanks to everyone at the Lancs for their hard work and effort.

Despite not being able to attend much and therefore relying on heresay etc
    1) a gala where all 9 locos worked without any failures
    2) a timetable that worked with all trains within 5/10 minutes of time throughout the weekend
    3) rosters available 4 days before the gala, free.
    4) no whinging on this forum

    Is this a first?
Why are there so few views of this forum? Is it a case of a railway just getting on with it, and this forum being full of its own importance?
This should put the views up or will it be taken down?

In answer to your last question I would say simply say yes. Operationally all seemed to run very well from my experience. Maybe the presence of ORR inspectors had some influence?

I am mystified as to why you would run a diner service in the middle of a gala...………? Well I'm not really, its a different kind of money stream so fair enough but resulted in a very odd Sunday afternoon timetable with a 2 hour break in proceedings in some locations. Not something I've expereince at a gala before.

Not sure why you would think your post would get 'taken down'?

I think we should celebrate the fact there was no whinging and thank the ELR and their volunteers for doing a magnificent job on the gala. No further analysis required!
