Seems to have disappeared off the website, has the event been pulled?

Anyone know if 76017 will be running at the gala along with 506, 925 and 92212.

Hopefully the line up might be:

    506
    30925
    41312
    76017
    92212

However, publicity material for this event only mentions three locos at the moment. Even a promo video released today only shows the S15, 9F and the Schools Class. And I recall reading recently (in the MHR News?) 41312 was being withdrawn for bottom end attention when 30925 returned to action.

Yes I assumed 41312 wouldn't be part of the line up for the reasons you stated. However it would be nice if 76017 was running as on the rare occasions I get to the line it is invariably not rostered. Just my bad luck I'm afraid.
I realise the limitations on the line because of the bridge issue and can only hope that next year's galas can hopefully make up for the restrictions that have not allowed a full blown event this year.
I have booked my accommodation in Hants and look forward to attending this year's gala nonetheless.

Whilst the Hymek at the WSR was something I was sorry to miss as I had to leave before it ran on Sunday not so sure where a Class 20 fits into a steam gala where there are really enough locos for a shortened line. But I guess I will still go and just avoid it.

Personally I like both steam and diesel preservation, so the use of the 20 might actually be the thing that sways me into deciding to go to this.

Looks like a very interesting gala. Would anyone know how much the bus fare is from Alton station to Medstead?

IIRC I paid £7.30 for a Alton to Alresford return when I went to the open weekend.

A return from Alton to Four Marks by stage coach costs £5.90 Return.

Also the Miniature railway at Ropley should have some 10 1/4 inch Steam Engines running during the event

  17. Not sure as many people will complain about the 20 being out at this gala.

Not half as many as complained about the Hymek,

I also ended up paying for a Alton to Alresford return as the driver did not know the Medstead stop. Seems they know it as 4 Marks. I let the railway know and they have updated the info on the website. Other than that was a good visit.

I guess thats because the bus goes through Four Marks.
Medstead village centre is a long way from it.
