A points failure at hampton lode south approach points stuck all trains having to go up and down platform 1 in single formation no passing trains until the platelayers see what the problem is,
we had to let the northbound train clear platform 1 reverse over the north approach points out of platform 2 and back on to platform 1 to get back down to kidder on the 3:55pm and the train im on was ment to be 34092 but has failed at bridgnorth instead its 43106 dep hampton lode 45 mins behind now

Hampton Loade is a quiet place right now! Signalman has taken to waving at a team trying to fix the points. Might be the first time on a trip to an SVR gala that I don't even manage a full round trip.

30541 sadly failed earlier this morning with a leaking boiler tube. Hard rectification work saw it return to service in time for today's 16:30 off Kidderminster.

The points at Hampton Loade also failed and it seems that though the timetable is at least out of sync.

34092 "City of Wells" now also failed at Bridgnorth with a problem with the steam reverser. 43106 is covering it's services till tonight

Yes not the best of days. An awful long way to come at great expense to have no run with 30541 and just Arley to Bridgnorth with 34092 before it failed. Mind you that climb of Eardington bank was something else. Pure Bulleid power and you don’t often get a class 4 2-6-0 on 10 coaches nowadays

I too baled at Highley to switch to the other set although I did manage to doze occasionally despite the disturbances. This actually turned out to be an excellent decision as I had the place to myself (apart from the station manager and signalman!) for 2 hours and could hear Taw Valley on the 0532 non-stopper starting from Bewdley, slow for Arley and make its stately progress all the way up and past towards Hampton Loade. Such a magical experience on an almost perfect night in respect of weather. Managed to get some sleep after this on the '7714 set' which was much quieter.
I can only offer my sincere thanks to everyone at the SVR for enabling me to enjoy this unique event.

Are trains crossing at Hampton Loade? Are the points fixed?

It seems (sadly) to be a fact of life that visiting engines frequently fail at Galas. SVR staff worked hard to have 30541 back in service this afternoon. They also worked hard on Thursday evening to resolve issues on 30541, so that it could run on Friday.

The 14xx has spent the last 25 minutes trying, and failing, to haul four carriages out of Platform 2 at Bridgnorth.

I think it is fair to say that I have had many better days on the SVR!
