I presume that all those grumbling about background music on films with railway subjects must REALLY detest the BTF film "Snow"

I love all those BTF films music notwithstanding.

That "All Stations" couple do a brilliant job in promoting railways. They have 62,000 followers many of whom probably don't follow any other channel devoted to railways. That's probably 30,000 people who might have known nothing about the WSR who now know it might be a place worth visiting. Good on them I say and sod the music.

You’ve done a brilliant job of winding up the moaners there.
Not only a railway documentary with music, but several glimpses of diesels amongst the steam traction.

    That's all very well.
But are all the locos in the film the correct shade of grey?

As of Wednesday morning, the view count is up to 34,527.

    We can all dream!
Just imagine if they all visit the WSR, hopefully not all at once.
Just imagine if they all bought a Day Rover ticket.
Just imagine what 759,594.00 pounds would do to the finances.
    We can all dream!

For those who missed the link first time around, here it is again

A stark warning regarding WSR affairs from Mark Smith in the latest Beano. <BJ>

''If we get it right today, then we will have a railway going forward. But if we get it wrong, then we'll have a cycle track - it's that simple''.

The Plc have a very intelligent and articulate Vice Chairman in Mark Smith. (The You Tube video discussed at length here over the last couple of days features a short interview with him).

I was at the recent EGM, and many of those present seemed to be totally shocked by that statement. I certainly was. I think that was rhe moment when the Boards motion won overwhelming support.

One thing IMO is glaringly obvious from the range of comments one way or another many here would hate to see the WSR go to the wall. More importantly as both I and Robin Moira White have hinted at if the line did fold, then it would take many other local traders [and their employees] with them, blowing a giant hole IMO in the local economy........ So it would be important that it survives as it would otherwise affect so many local peoples lives.

If the WSR were to fail I'm sure there are many along the route who would be fighting for a normal basic modern railway given the government's statements on boosting coastal towns and promoting rail re-openings. SCC are spending the best part of a million on Seaward Way crossing, perhaps with an eye to the future.

    Read the thread!
I didn't 'pick it' as you incorrectly say, I thanked someone for drawing my attention to it with particular reference to its musical accompaniment. (post 20179 refers)

Before he did all the stations with Viccy Geoff was well known as the "Londonist" and produced blogs on each of the underground lines. He has also covered some of Londons Ghost Trains

Because a link to that particular video was posted on this thread (now twice) and because without the music it might have been a bit more effective in promoting the WSR - depending on the relative numbers of potential viewers who are encouraged or put off by the music.
