Times now showing for Clun's trip to Gloucester.

The return times are a lot earlier than the provisional times so I'm not sure if these are the final paths yet.

If they are the final times then it should be possible to get a shot at Shrub Hill of 7029 passing 6233 in the yard. 7029 should arrive at the station just a scant few minutes after 6233 has completed her turning move. Should be an interesting day!

Such a shame that the tour is no longer running via Oxford and Sapperton. <BJ>

The Gloucester Classic Retro Festival appears to be a really good event.
    https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-gloucester-classic-retro-festival-2019-tickets-60324369814

It seems strange that the charter arrives at Gloucester at 11:30 but at 14:52 sets off for the short journey back to Birmingham. The Retro Festival ends at 18:00 by which time Clun will be back at Tyseley. With prices ranging from £89 to £179 per person the prices appear on the steep side for a relatively short day out.

Below is a list of afternoon events taken from VNTL's own website:

Gloucester Goes Retro Provisional Timetable for the Main Stage in Kings Square!
    11:00 – 11:30 – Gloster Swing Dance
    11:30 – 11:45 – Cherries On a Cloud Burlesque
    11:45 - 12:30 – Josie & The Outlaw (Set 1)
    12:30 - 12:45 – Gloster Swing Dance
    12:45 - 13:30 – Josie & The Outlaw (Set 2)
    13:30 - 13:45 – Gloster Swing Dance
    13:45 - 14:30 – The Revolutionaires (Set 1)
    14:30 - 14:45 – Cherries on A Cloud Burlesque
    14:45 - 15:00 – Gloster Swing Dance
    15:00 - 16:00 - The Revolutionaires (Set 2)
    16:00 - 16:15 – Fashion Parade Emma Durrant
    16:15 - 16:30 – Gloster Swing Dance
    16:30 – 18:00 – Speeches. Prize Giving. Allo Allo!!

I guess there are events the passengers can witness on the times they are in Gloucester. But why show what they are missing. It's like Bullseye. Let's see what you could've won

I find it strange that you mention the fact that part of the Retro programme is not shown but don't comment on the duration, or lack of, of the trip and it's cost.
Nevertheless I've updated the post for you to list the complete programme. <BJ>

Sorry it's probably the way I worded it. I whole heartedly agree with your point. My reply was at the VT programme list why show stuff they won't see. It's way too expensive for only half a show and just a quick trip down the Midland line. No real scenery unlike the Sapperton route

IIRC when they put the program of events up the provisional timings gave a much later departure time of around 6pm.

Given the relative short length of the trip, and the early return, is it possible that Ray Churchill will be on the footplate both ways? I'm not aware of exactly what the rules are regarding exactly how long a single driver can be in charge, and what sort of rest time he needs before doing it again. Could the earlier departure time be a way of saving money by not having to hire in Graham Ward to drive the return run?

Ray is not on this trip VT's newly passed driver Martyn Fakye is doing the whole trip, as it is now a much shortened day one driver can do the whole day.

Yes, original route was from Solihull via Banbury and Oxford. I still have one of the on-train tour listings from the back of the route notes in which those pickup points are listed.

Ashchurch station was packed to see Clun Castle as she passed at low speed. Half an hour later the Duchess roared past.

Believe it was a gauging restriction through Ashchurch. We were going great guns until then!

We were stabled in the loop at Cheltenham as the Duchess passed. Naturally the typical whisting concert ensued!!
