I await final timings and route with interest . I can’t see tender first via dorridge being allowed so we may have a welcome amount of north Warwick’s line activity . Water and servicing plus turning will also be interesting .

They can be put back on......

I understand it's CF to Stratford, tender first to B'ham, CF back to Stratford, then since there is a longer stop, light to Hatton to turn to be CF back to Burton.

Not sure on this but the stock is likely be taken down and returned to Carnforth for each trip, otherwise it would mean it would not be available for the Scarborough Spas or Dalesmans, and it can be properly serviced at Carnforth.

Sunday's intermediate trip from S-u-A to Brum and back has been cancelled ............

"........ this service has been subject to a revised route due to operational restraints, but would like to confirm that this alteration does not affect any bookings for passengers travelling on the Burton on Trent to Stratford upon Avon part of the journey. This service can no longer operate from Stratford upon Avon to Birmingham".

Perhaps not unexpected given the need to turn and service at some point in the day . Is this a one off for the first weekend or for all five . I would have been tempted to do a stratford snow hill round trip with the 8F

Was very disappointed to hear that the midday return run from Stratford to Birmingham and return would not be happening on Sunday - my chief reason for booking.

I rang WCRC and credit where it is due, they offered me a full refund, as there was no alternative to a five hour stay in Stratford, which was not what I had booked for. Pleasing to find a railtour company prepared to do the right thing when their offer had been fundamentally changed by circumstances beyond their control.

Peter on a hot, hot, hot Manchester evening

Mind you, 5 hours in S-o-A is probably better than 2 hours in Carlisle ;)

I remember decrepit 9Fs and B1s through my local station but wouldn't wish that state of neglect on any loco.

On no it isn't, 2 hours in Carlisle is just nice time for a walk to a local hostelry, lunch of choice and a leisurely stroll back to the station, 5 hours in Stratford might be OK the first time, but for the umpteenth, no way.
