The summit of Wilpshire is, unusually, not a milepost but the gradient marker that sits at MP 13 and 6 chains.

I think we were lucky with the time of year and some embankment trimming. Not seen it before and done it so many times.

Some times for the run on 13 July have appeared on RTT. Whilst the northbound run over Shap are standard, southbound a stop at Langwathby replaces the usual one at Appleby - ice cream sales will take a hit.

No times yet for the 20th; northbound over the S&C and back via Shap. I wonder what the plan is if the problem with the DGL at Hellifield has not been rectified. Water at Chatburn, then run through the platform at Hellifield or reverse the whole trip?

I wonder why it's booked to stop at Langwathby? The Waverley this weekend coming, I think advertises to drop and collect passengers at Appleby, so it should be stopping there, water taken or not.

Excellent Graham highlighting the joys and problems of train timing. I will keep this to refer to from time to time (excuse the pun). Don

Times now on RTT for 20th, looks like water at Chatburn outbound, another stop at Appleby. Return via WCML with stops in Eden Valley loop, Carnforth and Preston.

Black Leases Farm looks a bit drier than when Ian C took us there and you were whingeing about the mud :p
