Might be worth noting that the two issues above are completely unrelated.
It's being reviewed on Friday, no decision has been made regarding the weekend yet.

What was the issue that stopped running to Broadway? I hear it was near the viaduct, but not what the issue was.

I see the Broadway blog did indeed mention the viaduct. We've been asked not to speculate further, although I found it a somewhat puzzling request given the same email told us the reason! Anyway, I expect more will be made public by the weekend along with a decision as to running arrangements over the weekend.

All services back to normal, so all fine for the weekend, and more importantly, the gala the following week.

The Caley tank was out in the sun on Saturday:

So far (2 days) the gala looks to have been a success.

It's always fun to have an unusual engine. Shame it didn't run on the 5 coach special for which it was diagrammed, there was an issue with a hot box so it was just with a short freight train and run into Winchcombe station from the C&W sidings in between service trains.

The gala has one more day to run (Monday 27th May) so don't miss it !

A thoroughly enjoyable day at the GWSR on Saturday. Many thanks to all who made it possible. Very interesting to listen to the C&W staff explaining the latest rolling stock restoration projects. 20190525-11-.JPG 20190526-3-.JPG

A few photos of the B1 at the end of today's service trains. What a gorgeous machine she is!

Excellent pics! I had a great, albeit short, ride behind the B1 on Sunday, a cracking loco, looked great in LNER livery too. Wish I could have stuck around to enjoy it for another week but sadly I had to return north sooner than it did.

A short video showcasing 1264 in action during the Saturday of the gala and the Sunday of the following weekend. I hope you enjoy it :)

A quick question, I'm doing research for a picture of Toddington station and it has what looks like a Morris 12/4 outside it. HC Casserley had a Morris like that, it was for sale a year ago (according to Google) and I wonder if anyone knows the reg number of this car? I know HC Casserley took a picture at Broadway in 1959, so he was in the area at some point.

Why was an LNER loco that was running on a GWR line carrying Southern-style discs?

I suspect LNER-style discs rather than Southern (the GER used discs and they lasted into LNER days).

Exactly Tom! Also we had great fun with the steam Jenny, never missed a beat all day. (35006’s needs a full rebuild, so there now looking at fitting batteries in the existing aws)
