At the moment you can buy examples of the more recent ones on Fleabay. Anywhere between a fiver and £14.95.

And to think that I gave my collection of them to the buffer shop at Minehead.

Just a speculatice question, when will the 4F leave the railway now the contract is terminated?? (Probably a can of worms behind the scenes?)

I've been on the Railway today and gather that it will leave "in the next few days" in order to take advantage of an existing low-loader movement.

How long is 6430 staying at WSR? Wasn't she meant to be going Nene Valley some point?

Do the WSR turn their stock to even up the wear? I've heard of other railways near to the sea finding the paint on the seaward side deteriorating much faster than the landward side.

Lady from Bristol learns that WSR may be getting a Manor from the Severn Valley Railway -

Only if it is a leap year. They do turn the locos but I don’t know if the stock turned that would be easy on the triangle.

I was told by a Railway employee today that talks are "at an advanced stage" for 6960 Raveningham Hall to go to the Severn Valley in an exchange deal with a Manor (presumably Bradley).

I think that, in the current circumstances, such an exchange would make a good deal of sense.

Not WSR but that doesn't seem to matter on this thread ;)

From the end of April and through May there is a season of British Transport Films on Talking Pictures TV, that's Freeview channel 81

A feast of steam and operation - Betjeman and lots more. Get your recorders ready and enjoy!

What was the film filmed on the WSR but based on DSR-Taunton to Barnstaple line.

I can’t seem to find any info. Thanks

The most famous film on the WSR must be The Beatles ‘A Hard Days Night’.
‘The Belstone Fox’ also used the railway as a location.
