My footage of Clun Castle passing through St Mary's Crossing passing the old signal box which still survives, as the Castle attacks Sapperton Bank for the first time in a while. Enjoy.

Looked (and sounded) great climbing up Sapperton. Sounded like the 47 on the back was just ticking over, so I guess Mr. Churchill had things well under control!

There's a 50 through Stroud so not much distance over Bourne Viaduct to pick up speed. 55 around Brinscombe and over St. Mary's crossing is par for the course coming, carrying 50+ onto the 1in75, the first part of the serious climb to the summit. Diesel wasn't just ticking over across St. Mary's Crossing listening to Alex1994GWR's recording.

Thinking of trying to catch 7029 for a photograph later as I'm travelling back down the M4 en route to Devon around then. Anyone know if Aynho junction is a good location? Or any other recommendations nearish Oxford?

Scrub that it's clearly not going that way! But any recommendations near Oxford all the same?

Return route via Worcester, not Banbury, so not Aynho. Somewhere around Hanborough/ Charlbury would be best bet.

Moreton in Marsh still has an old signal box and semaphore signals at the station.

A couple of shots only today. first at Hagley and then passing St Mary's Crossing in the Golden Valley. A race to Culham was a waste of time, I had 15minutes on it but it didn't stop for pathing at Didcot and was in Oxford 28min early.

A thoroughly good day today. First of all witnessed the wonderful sight of Clun Castle on the climb to Sapperton tunnel. Certainly no assistance from the 47 at Frampton Mansell.
Then it was a quick dash over to RAF Fairford to watch three mighty B-52 bombers take off for their return to Barksdale, Louisiana. <BJ>

An impressive display of both sight and sound on the climb to Sapperton

A really good day out. Non-stop Worcester to Oxford on the outward, storming up Sapperton and missing the Didcot West pathing stop to arrive into Oxford about 25 minutes early. Sitting in the penultimate carriage I never heard the 47 at all, not even up Sapperton, yet 7029 was loud and clear and definitely working hard!
