Drafthouse, 33 Exchange St so a stones throw from the station for those partial to a beer.
Brewdog/s Union St and Gallowgate are also good.

Disappointed at the amount of shoveage after Dundee given the ideal conditions. Surprised A1 Trust have allowed it. Thought they were dead against, main reason for my support over the years. I suppose beggars eh?

Also shame the 73 off the sleeper couldn't have been used to sort the stock!

Tornado on 10 without hindrance/helper would be well within its capabilities on this road.

Still, my first time to Aberdeen behind steam for 20 odd years and is this the first main line railtour that Tornado has provided steam heat?

Sorry, won't be writing up the logs for this one in a hurry.

I would think that sometime in her 10 years she would have provided steam heat on a railtour, but I'm sure someone will have a definite answer though.

Regardless of shovage, The Grill is pretty good too.

All the Aberdonians are with WCRC, so I wonder if this first one sets the pattern for diesel assistance in future. Hopefully they're just being cautious on the first trip. If a 5XP can tackle Shap unaided with 11 on, I hope there is enough confidence for an 8P to handle the Aberdeen road with 10.

Please all: New route, loco fresh from repair, new operator for said loco.. There's enough reasons alone.

I thought the main issue was the shunt move to/from Ferryhill.

    Fantastic! Fit a Sicht!

Back of Altens on the approach to Cove.

From the videos Iv see so far Tornado looks like she is fully earning her own way home on the return leg with little to no assistance!

Theres a great one of her racing south through Portlethen on twitter.

Can concur that there's been plenty of noise from the front on the return, and am encouraged to see on a video that no smoke was being emitted from the 37 at Stonehaven.

This one has to be the money shot.

Credit to whoever took it. Unfortunately I couldn’t be there. But I will be for No.9.

    Two things:
Tornado has comfortably tackled this route in the past with 11 on - Cathedrals Explorer in 2012.
The diesel is needed to shunt the train, nothing else, but when you add an extra 3/4 coaches.........

Found this on YouTube. Great clip leaving Dundee in the dark at end.
